It is important that a plant has an optimal, well-developed root system, and the culmination of this process will be the establishment of a mycorrhizal relationship with the fungus.
There are several reasons that can lead to mycorrhizal failure:
- Alterations in developmental morphology
- Limited presence of mycorrhizae.
- Other mycorrhizae that colonize those created
Thus, quality mycorrhiza is characterized by:
- well-structured root system
- Balance between aerial and radial parts
- No signs of drying or overheating
- Single or few stems
- Visibility of buds susceptible to producing apical bud
